● Meeting the G20 first, visiting BCEC

After a fierce competition from many cities, Brisbane in Australia was chosen. And we were already making extensive preparations for the upcoming G20 World Leaders Summit to be held in November. After the AIME event over the past two days, we received an email and were invited to Brisbane, and Melbourne's sky visited the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. Although we had an exhibition schedule, we couldn't attend due to sudden changes, but it was a chance to glimpse Brisbane's unique scenery and natural charm in every corner of BCEC.

Major Australian cities have centers that can host exhibitions, fairs, and other events. BCEC in Brisbane stands for Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. MCEC in Melbourne, Victoria, is also in line with the same concept. Currently, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre is also established in Melbourne, as well as in Sydney, Darwin, and other cities. You can think of it as COEX in Korea. By hosting convention industries and events at centers located in each city, they contribute to the creation and development of diverse and substantial benefits in Australia.

The last AIME event was truly a meaningful time. I was able to build valuable connections by talking with people from various fields and companies who attended. The convention center introduced in this issue is also a precious connection I made through the AIME event.

If you're arriving in Brisbane for the first time, even if your destination is different, if the city is your destination, you can head to Central Station. The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, located next to South Bank, is also considered part of the city. Its layout and style were similar to Melbourne's convention centers. After touring Brisbane, which has a more charming charm compared to other cities, we arrived at BCEC.

● About BCEC

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is a top convention center capable of hosting multiple large conferences, exhibitions, and various events simultaneously under one roof. It can also host small and medium-sized corporate meetings and professional events.

When planning this place, the top priority was to provide an ideal venue for any type of convention center with conventional scientific and technological capabilities, functional flexibility, and the ability to host meetings or special events of any complexity simultaneously.

Located in Brisbane, BCEC boasts natural charm and is located in the heart of The South Bank Parklands, within walking distance of the downtown business district. This BCEC features 20 meeting rooms, including a Great Hall that serves over 4,000 people, and has four exhibition halls totaling 20,000 sq.

● About G20

We will remember 2010. Because of the G20 held in our country, many people began to take an interest in the G20 and learned that such national gatherings exist. Let's learn about this event, which is attended by world-class advanced countries. The following information about the G20 has been reposted from Wikipedia.

The G20 (English: Group of 20) refers to a group of 20 countries, consisting of the G7, which led the global economy, the European Union (EU) presidency, 12 emerging economies, and major economies. After the Asian financial crisis, the lack of an international crisis replacement system related to finance and foreign exchange was pointed out as a problem, and in September 1999, during the IMF Annual Meeting, the G8 Finance Ministers' Meeting agreed to establish the G20 with participation from G8 countries and major emerging market countries. In December 1999, the G20 Finance Ministers' Meeting, where finance ministers and central bank governors from major developed and emerging economies gathered in Berlin, Germany, gathered to broadly discuss major economic and financial issues in the international community.

Since then, the G20 has regularly been led annually by finance ministers and central bank governors of member countries. After the global financial crisis in November 2008, the need for cooperation between developed and emerging countries arose to overcome the crisis, elevating it to a summit-level summit and hosting the first G20 summit in Washington, D.C. [1] [2] Following the 2nd London Conference, the 3rd Pittsburgh Conference was held in 2010, during the transitional period to the G20 system, with Canada holding the G8 and G20 meetings in June, South Korea deciding to hold them in November, and the G20 summit was made a regular event. [3] France was the chair country in 2011, Mexico in 2012, and Russia in 2013. Since 2011, it has been held once a year.

Currently, the combined population of G20 members accounts for two-thirds of the world's population. Moreover, the combined GDP of these countries accounts for 85% of the global market and 80% of global trade, so the issues decided by the G20 have a significant economic impact internationally.

The G20 consists of 20 countries, including the existing G7 participants, 12 emerging and major countries from each continent, and the EU presidency. However, if the EU presidency that year is an existing member, the meeting is held with 19 countries. Participating organizations include the IMF, IBRD, European Central Bank, and International Monetary and Financial Committee.

There is no separate secretariat; the presidency serves as the secretariat for a one-year term. Each G20 country is divided into five groups, and according to the rotation of each group, priority is selected within the group, decisions are made at the Finance Ministers' Meeting, and official announcements are made at the Finance Ministers' Meeting. South Korea belongs to the East Asia regional group of Group 5. The G20 Presidency serves as an advisory body to the Presidency for one year before and after the year it is appointed.

● Brisbane prepares for the G20

Until now, I had only heard about the G20 and didn't know much about what it actually did. The G20 finance ministers and central bank governors' meeting, which serves as a prelude to the G20 summit, opened in Sydney on February 23. Brisbane, which hosted the G20, was extremely busy. Typically, if the G20 is successfully held, it generates tens of trillions in economic benefits. For this reason, many countries are planning to hold the meeting under various conditions. It is expected that about 3,000 people, including member country leaders, delegates, and journalists, will attend the Brisbane G20 summit on November 15 and 16. Seeing that preparations are already underway, it is expected that the upcoming G20 will conclude successfully.
