Location: Gami Korean Chicken – Moonee Ponds

Pay: Hourly under the Restaurant Award, including weekend penalties, overtime, and all entitlements.

About Us

Gami Korean Chicken is one of Australia’s leading Korean fried chicken brands, known for authentic flavours, warm hospitality, and a vibrant dining experience. As we launch our newest restaurant in Moonee Ponds, we’re looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to help lead the Opening Phase and drive operational excellence once trading begins.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves building strong teams, and wants to grow with a national brand.

Key Responsibilities

Opening Phase (Pre‑Launch)

Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of the opening teamHelp set up operational systems, stock processes, and service standardsWork closely with the franchise support team to ensure a smooth launchOngoing Operations

Oversee daily FOH and BOH operations to ensure seamless serviceMaintain high levels of customer satisfaction and manage complaint resolutionLead, coach, and motivate a high-performing team aligned with Gami cultureCreate and manage rosters while controlling labour costs against KPIsMaintain inventory accuracy, stock rotation, and supplier orderingEnsure compliance with RSA, food safety, allergen management, and brand standardsDrive sales performance through strong product knowledge and upsellingContribute to continuous improvement across service, efficiency, and team cultureWhat We’re Looking For

Positive attitude and a continuous improvement mindsetMinimum 1 year of hospitality supervisory or leadership experienceStrong communication and leadership skills; fluent in EnglishValid working visa with at least 2 years remainingRSA and Allergen Certificate (or willingness to obtain)Experience with hospitality POS systems and KPI-driven operationsExcellent time management, problem-solving, and team-building abilityHands-on approach with a commitment to high service standardsWhy Join Gami Moonee Ponds?
